And I get nosebleed but I always stand up.* )-Hoppípolla, Sigur Rós.

My customized browser homepage has had these 9 Icelandic words since I first heard it.
Possibly my song for life, haha.

Failing Fr. Bernas' Consti class and Atty. Vallente's Crim class meant bye bye Ateneo. Law school is in a waaay different league. There is absolutely no room for mediocrity.  First time to have failed in school ever, and I failed two subjects! :D I cut my hair, ate a tub of ice cream, and bought a pair of shoes then. I filled out appeal forms and sent letters and spent the next 6 months waiting. At home, out running errands, or otherwise being monitored by Noel with a blow-by-blow account of where I went when I get home. I wasn't allowed to get a job because dad thought I would lose my drive.

I met Dean Ulan (a.k.a. King Mufasa) in Boracay over the summer though. :) He convinced me to transfer to his kingdom--San Beda Alabang. Despite my pending appeals, I went over and enrolled. The units I earned from Ateneo were creditted, but because of the disparity of credit units allocated on a J.D. program and an Ll.B., I had to repeat some.

I earned 3 units of Persons and Family Relations Law back in college for my pre-law degree. I earned 4 units under Atty Mel Sta. Maria back in Ateneo. And then I had to earn 5 units of the same course again even if I've already passed it twice. :D I think I would've been suicidal if I failed it and had to take it a fourth time, but thanks to the lovely Atty Bruce, I got an 85. :)

I failed Crim and Consti so I naturally had to re-take them. Having Atty Amurao for Crim scared me shitless especially when I found out that only one student passed in last year's class, but luckily, he chose to pass five of us this year. :) (I guess I have Atty Vallente to thank for that. :)) I had my old Legal Research prof for Consti. Chewy gave me an 87 back in Ateneo. He gave me an 87 again this year, hahahaha. What are the odds of that. :)

I know I haven't checked the results of my last pending appeal yet, but it doesn't matter anymore. With the release of my grades from the first semester I spent in San Beda, I feel like I definitely definitely got my closure. :)

I cut my hair again last week.
Damn. I'd have a whole year of I-miss-my-long-hair woes again.

*I am a lying liar who lies.
I've never actually had a nosebleed.

Here's to an eternity of back rubs, baseball, and "Tom and Jerry" reruns. :)

I'll see you on the other side, alright?
Til then, I'll miss you.

Love always,
J

  • Got teamed up with Angelo and Patrick in the 5th Inquirer Inter-collegiate Debating Championship.
While we didn't break into the Octofinals, in terms of team scores, [+] we ranked as the 16th of the 52 teams. So, if we were 16th, why didn't we qualify? )

  • [-] Turned out that you have to be at least a second year law student to get an internship at the law firms.
So last Monday, I started working in the Legislative Department at the Senate Office of Sen. Madrigal, who is [+] Committee Head for Youth, Women, and Family Relations (My favourite law subject is Persons and Family Relations Law, btw :)).
Right now, I'm to write a letter in behalf of Laban ng Masa to go with Sen. Madrigal's petition to the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights. Read more. )
I fell down two steps and got a large nasty bruise on my thigh on my first day of work. Dad left for China (again!) early that morning, and I saw him off, which meant that I had to slip in a catnap before I left for work since it's way too early to prepare to leave.
Woke up über über late, showered fast and was running around the house when I slipped and fell on the stairs' landing. Hahaha. :)

  • During Final Exams week, I missed the public vans and rode the train on my way to uni.
[-] My two year old Nokia 3650, my favourite phone, got stolen. :(
(Please delete the +63.922.63.77.016 number from your lists.) 2004. :( )

  • Was at home the whole week last week (Holy Week).
That's a first in so many months.

    AND FINALLY, FOR [info]feistydork:  )

Went to the mall with Kev ([info]daylightbreaks) this afternoon after debate training.
Even if we walked and scourged the stores for almost 3 hours, and I didn't get to buy what I went there for (no more sizes :\), 'twas really fun picking and criticising stuff with him that I didn't feel tired at all. :D

Halfway through the "exploit" Kevin was begging to see a movie and had even faked interest over a Broadband Internet subscription just so he could sit. Haha. I've yet to find a person of the male species who's built for shopping.

Before this post sounds like I became the bitchy "you have to come with me and I'm not asking you to say yes because I'm going to drag you into every store anyway", I'd like to clear that I hadn't, and we, not just I, were shopping for ourselves.

I ended up buying a Php449 bottle of moisturiser that's supposed to do miracles in 28 days.
I shall post on the first day of February and say that it did. (At least I wish I'd post on the first day of February and truthfully say that it did.)

    By the way:

I've just remembered why I didn't write up New Year's Resolutions last year.
    And the year before that.
    And the years before that.

    It's because I'm lazy. :\

I write them on my birthday (07.Jan, to "redeem" not having written them 6 days before) instead.
Would be posting them under a "Friends-Only" post this Saturday so I don't "break tradition".

Gaaah. It's pretty obvious what should be first in that list.

In the meantime, here's my generated one: )

    AB Debate Series
Mia, Elaine, and I, as Team Legal Management A didn't make it to the Semis. :(
We broke ranked 2nd in the Quarterfinals tho, with a 4-1 standing (We lost to TDC's Joan, Kayleen and Bry by a 0.5 margin). :) None of us expected to go this far, considering the fact that all of us are amateur debaters who just got in debate this school year and are competing for the first time.

    I love my team!
    Thanks Mia and Elaine! <3333333

We'll be competing in the ALMAP Debate Series this Saturday... Wish us luck~! ^^
Also, congrats to my neighbour Mae! Her team beat us in that last round, and they're advancing to the Semis. :)

    Pinoy Big Brother

I don't really watch the show oft, and now i've probably lost the main reason to try to.

Ate Say has been evicted out of ABS-CBN's Pinoy Big Brother yesterday. :( I didn't really want her to win in the end, because she won't need the money anyway (Hehe! Kyle, if you ever come across this, I'm sorry! I did shell out lots to vote for her!), but I did want her to be on the final four. :( I am rooting for kickass Nene now tho, so I might try to catch the show still. Just won't shell out money. Hehe.

Kyle was on TV last night~! ^^
(She's the über-pretty one in green.)
Yeah. Welcome back Ate Say~! :)

And since it's almost 12 mn, HAPPY BEERDAY KEVIN! ([info]daylightbreaks) ^^
