How have people pronounced your name? How is it supposed to sound?

I've 12 syllables in my name, with 4 r/l phonemes. I don't think it rolls out nice. :D
I'm not sure how it's supposed to sound, really. I think I tend to stress the /an/ on the 4th syllable to catch my breath, but when the person I'm talking to finally gets over how long my name is, I always end up having to spell my last name, so I guess I need to stress all 3 syllables of my last name instead.

It's Victor India Bravo Alpha November DORAEMON, dammit. :D JK. Asking to have it spelt isn't so bad, I guess, but the question I dread the most is, "Are you related to Margot & the Nuclear so and so's?" ..Because I won't fool anyone if I say no. :D Wouldn't it be nice to hide under an ubiquitous name like "Santos" or "Chang"?

Ah, but it's so fricken troublesome to petition for a change of name in the Philippine Civil Registry. :( If it wasn't a clerical error (i.e. De Lantar v. Delantar (Hi Dan, this is for you :D)), and it doesn't sound ridiculous enough (i.e. Tatlongtae (lit. "three shits"). Awesome example, innit?), you don't stand a chance unless you get married and take your husband's name. NAAAH! Don't get me wrong, I love you, dad! :D I love you, family! And I'm thinking of keeping my name even after marriage to keep it going since there aren't much male relatives in my generation, but I like to joke around that I want to get married to a Chan and be "Jo Marie Chan" or to one of Judi's brothers and be "Jo Marie Sison". The looks on people's faces when I shake hands or exchange cards with them would be PRICELESS. Done for the lulz.

Bah. Names. Go through college and earn the right to append an initial. Climb the corporate ladder and earn the right to append a title. Get married and have that extra "r" in between. Die and have it carved in stone for all eternity, but in the end, you are not your name. Your choices define who you are.

Have an idea, change the world. Save a life, be a hero.
When you do, being named Tatlongtae wouldn't matter. (Ok, at least for me.)

So hello. My name is Jom, and I'm a million different people from one day to the next.
Who are you today?
